Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma – Ram V and Anand RK Bring DC’s Eternal Super Hero Back from the Dead in a New DC Black Label Limited Series

Eisner Award-winning writer Ram V (The New Gods, Detective Comics) and artist Anand RK (Batman: Urban Legends, Blue in Green) are bringing back one of DC’s most enigmatic superheroes this April, as DC today announced plans to publish Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma, a DC Black Label limited series.
This six-issue Prestige format series reintroduces readers to Mitch Shelley, the Resurrection Man. Originally created by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, and Jackson “Butch” Guice, Shelley is a man who has led thousands of lives, and with each death, he is resurrected with a new superpower based on his previous cause of death. After living and dying his latest life, Shelley awakes with a new purpose to go along with his latest power: saving the universe. This version of Resurrection Man must battle across time and space against a sadistic Word War II internment camp captain who has inherited a twisted version of Shelley’s abilities. As the lines of cosmic order begin to blur, Mitch Shelley will literally die to save the universe, more than once.
"This is a story I’ve wanted to tell since I first started writing for DC,” said writer Ram V. “It's lingered and stayed and got its hooks into my mind and my love and excitement for the character and story has only grown. Part of the joy of writing comics for me, is getting to reinvent, reimagine characters in a way that speaks to my own preoccupations and joys; with Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma, I hope readers will share in my excitement as Anand, Mike and Aditya and I tell a story of endless lifetimes, saving universes and falling in love, spanning the length of all existence."
Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma #1 will be available for preorder at participating comic book shops and digital retailers Friday, January 17, and debuts Wednesday, April 2. The debut issue features a main cover by Jeff Dékal, with variant covers by Dan Panosian and series artist Anand RK. Artist and Resurrection Man co-creator Guice will also provide a variant cover for the debut issue and contribute artwork for one-page synopses (written by Ram V) in each of the six issues to recap the history of the character.
Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma is a DC Black Label comic book series and carries an Ages 17+ content descriptor (for mature audiences).
