To say that next week’s Infinite Frontier #1 will change the world isn’t accurate.
It will change worlds. As in, all of them.
Earlier this year, Dark Nights: Death Metal reached its shocking conclusion, seemingly resetting the DC Universe to where it was before the Batman Who Laughs turned it into post-apocalyptic house of horrors. But if we know anything about the Multiverse, if Crisis after Crisis have left us with any lessons at all, it’s that there are always repercussions. You can’t mess with existence without paying some kind of price. As to what that price is, we got our first hint in March’s Infinite Frontier #0, but readers will soon learn the full extent as Joshua Williamson and Xermanico’s six-issue limited series, Infinite Frontier, begins unspooling next week.
Infinite Frontier #1 starts with the world seemingly in a good place, with everything back where it belongs and all of the damage created by past Crises undone. Yet, a surprise visitor to Earth-23, home of President Calvin Ellis (who just so happens to be his planet’s Superman) will kick off a string of events that will find an unlikely team of heroes and villains standing together to once again keep reality from unraveling. And who’s that surprise visitor? That would be “Flashpoint Batman,” the Dark Knight from the ravaged Earth where Bruce Wayne was shot in Crime Alley and his grieving father took up the cowl. What would bring these two icons of their worlds together? And what does it have to do with our heroes’ world, Earth-0, where a legendary crimefighter will soon embark on a desperate search for his missing daughter?
We can’t promise this exclusive first look at our blockbuster new title will answer that question for you, but it’ll certainly give you an idea of the stakes we’re looking at and how you’re not going to want to miss what’s sure to be the comic book event of the summer. Enjoy this sneak peek! After all, you never know if this is the last time you’ll be seeing some of these guys…
Infinite Frontier #1 by Joshua Williamson, Xermanico and Romulo Fajardo Jr. is available in print and as a digital comic on Tuesday, June 21.
