DC All Access, our weekly webseries devoted to bringing you the latest news from DC Entertainment, returns next week with a brand new episode and a brand new co-host. In fact, there’s plenty of new stuff to look forward to, but one aspect that will remain firmly in place is Tiffany Smith. One of show’s original hosts, Tiffany has not only appeared in every episode of DC All Access, but has written for DCComics.com and moderated or participated in DCE panels at conventions. And things aren’t about to slow down for the returning host. This year’s a particularly big one for DC, with a major publishing event on the horizon, five live action TV shows on the air and a blockbuster film slate in development.

We thought it was a good time to sit down with Tiffany to get caught up on how she’s been since DC All Access wrapped in 2014, what she’s most looking forward to in 2015, and how she feels about finally having a new co-host.

Tiffany, up until now, I’ve thought of you as the really excitable DC All Access host. But now you’ve been here for a while and Jason’s the one who’s new and excitable. How does that feel? Is it different?

I think in some ways it’s going to be different. There are certain things that I think Jason has a lot more childlike excitement about because it’s all fresh and new to him. But I think if anything, it just reignites that excitement for me. There are going to be moments where I’ll probably be like, “No, you don’t get to do that. I still want to do that!”

But Jason is definitely bringing a new vibe to the show that I think we’re all excited about.

So how do you feel about DC All Access coming back now for its third year? You’ve been involved with it for a while now. Does it still excite you?

It doesn’t feel like we’re going into a third year of the show. It feels like I just got the job last week. I think that’s a good thing, it just means that the job is consistently exciting and we get to do new stuff. I think one of the big differences going into this season is just everything that’s happening within the TV and film world. It’s going to open up a whole new dynamic for our show. In the first couple of seasons, we had Arrow, but adding in Flash and Constantine and iZombie, and now the closer we’re getting to the films, I just think it gives us so much more stuff to cover.

I think that’s why every season feels completely new, because there’s always a new comic book. There’s always something new that DC is trying.

You’ve had a chance to work a bit with Jason. How do you feel about officially getting started with him as your new co-host?

I’m definitely excited, but it’s a little bittersweet because I love Blair. He will always be my big brother, whether he’s co-hosting with me or not.  But on the same token, the relationship that I’m sure Jason and I will eventually develop, getting to do things like Comic-Con together and share our excitement about DC… I think one of the best things about DC is that their fans are fans across the board, and it’s so exciting to have another fan co-hosting with me.

Getting to do last season’s guest hosting episode with him, he was just really game, fun and up for anything. So I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of stuff I can learn from him, and also what things he’s excited about that he might be able to shine a new light on for me.

It’s funny because all of us involved with DC All Access get to see so many moments behind the scenes that our viewers don’t. I remember when DC All Access first debuted, you and Blair were talking about some of the new comics that were coming out, and you were really excited about the new Sandman series. Have you had a chance to really talk comics with Jason yet? He’s such a big fan!

We haven’t really had that much time together on set yet. It’s something that I’m definitely looking forward to. I think in the announcement video you can see him talking about the first Superman and Batman comics that really excited him. That was really my first chat with him about that sort of thing.

But it’s exciting because it really is a whole new dynamic, and just getting to learn the things that Jason is into and what he’s read, the writers he loves, the artists he really connects with… I’m definitely looking forward to that.

We really are blazing some new territory here, aren’t we? You knew Blair before DC All Access, but you only met Jason very recently.

He doesn’t know that I burp on set all the time!

I’m sure he’ll discover that soon enough! Actually, he said in my interview with him that his biggest fear is that he’s going to mess you up. He’s worried about saying or doing something on camera that will throw you off or cause you to freak out, which really surprised me since you’re one of the nicest people I’ve met!

Well, now that I know that, the super-villain side of me might come out!

No, once we’ve had a chance to work together we’ll figure out what works for us, so I hope that he starts to feel a lot more comfortable with me. But I do feel like I have to freak out on him at least once now!

In what ways is DC All Access different now than it was when you first started?

As anything like this goes on, people start to get more comfortable with you. They know what the show is. Just being able to have more access and maybe earlier access to the TV sets is something that I’m really excited about. Also, being able to say that there are movies that are filming and there are actors that we want to talk to. We touched on that a little bit with the DVD release of Man of Steel, but we haven’t been doing the show during a time when DC movies were coming out for the first time. That’s something that will be really new for the show. It’ll bring a new aspect to it.

Finally, what upcoming DC project are you most looking forward to right now?

I get really excited when new titles from Vertigo are coming out. The Kitchen is one of my favorites right now. It’s just a completely new vibe, new characters. You can jump into that world without having read any other comic books, and you know it’ll be a little bit darker, or a little bit seedier. A little more violent, even. I love when DC writers have Vertigo books, like with Scott Snyder and The Wake. I think that’s exciting to me because it’s writers that you’ve enjoyed seeing work on titles and characters that you know, who then come over to Vertigo and say, “This is a totally new world that I want to develop.”

Also, I’m excited for the new TV shows in development. The casting announcements for Supergirl that have come out... I feel like Supergirl is one of those shows where I don’t know what it’s going to look like or how it’s going to feel. So that’s one I’m really excited about seeing. Just having a female character as the lead on the show, and hopefully have it be just as successful as any of the current DC shows or anything else on CBS.

Look for more from Tiffany and her new co-host Jason Inman when DC All Access returns on Tuesday, February 3rd!
