Not Just Another Mask
The Goat doesn’t wear the first mask we’ve seen on GOTHAM. After all, the Balloonman wore one at the onset of his onslaught. But this mask, with its cutout eyes and mouth, is evocative of a cowl favored by a certain Caped Crusader. And both are designed to strike terror into the hearts of those who see it.
Harvey Bullock’s Heart of Gold
Sure we love us some Harvey Bullock as the cop who seems to know how to work all the angles in Gotham City. But now we’ve learned at least one of his secrets. He is actually capable of feeling a little guilt and remorse. As far as he’s concerned, his old partner Detective Dix is in a wheelchair because of his obsession with bringing the Goat to justice years before. And now he picks up the tab for Dix’s care and, um, reading materials.
Bullock’s always been complicated that way. For a glimpse into the darker corners of his heart check out his redemption tale, “Unresolved,” from Gotham Central Book Two: Jokers and Madmen. Coincidentally, this story puts him on a collision course with none other than another familiar face from Gotham—Penguin.
