Because Grid hooked Nightwing up to a bomb – called the Murder Machine – and put him in a chamber designed to hold Doomsday. That’s where Batman finds him with the device wired to his heart. 

What can the man that has contingency plans for everything do when he’s faced with the sudden countdown to Nightwing’s imminent end?

But we wanted to share this incredible moment from page 15 of FOREVER EVIL #6 that reveals just how deep Bruce Wayne's friendship with Dick Grayson is. Can Batman help Nightwing escape an inescapable device? The detonator will only disarm if Dick Grayson stops breathing!
