Welcome back to the first “Beyond the Scenes” of our new Batman Beyond 2.0 story arc! This is a great time for new readers to hop on board (not to mention, you can still go read the entire series any time by clicking here), so I hope you’re ready for another exciting BEYOND adventure!!

In this chapter we open with Batman fighting Shriek, a classic Beyond villain, who’s still very much at large after the Arkham breakout in Chapter 2. After a battle in which Shriek pretty much rocks Batman, leaving him temporarily deafened, Dick Grayson tells him a story from his days as Robin. In case you were wondering, that story was from the episode “Fear of Victory” in the first season of Batman: The Animated Series.

Speaking of BTAS, in the final panel of Chapter 9, it was revealed that one of Batman’s original villains—Dr. Kirk Langstrom AKA Man-Bat—is alive! But what’s Man-Bat been up to all this time? Who is the mysterious woman he’s with? And what exactly are his plans for those two hostages??
