The winners for the 35th annual Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards were announced last night at the annual ceremony at Comic-Con International: San Diego, with DC winning in every category in which DC received a nomination, with the most amount of wins for a publisher, taking home 8 total awards, including awards for Best Writer, Best Continuing Series, Best Limited Series, Best Single Issue/One-Shot, Best Short Story, Best Penciller/Inker or Team, Best Cover Artist, and Best Coloring.
DC creators who won included Tom King, Mitch Gerads, James Tynion IV, Tom Taylor, Bruno Redondo, Greg Smallwood, Jordie Bellaire, and more. Batman actor and “Finding Batman” writer Kevin Conroy received a posthumous award for his short story, illustrated by J. Bone, in DC Pride 2022, with DC editors Arianna Turturro and Jessica Chen accepting on his behalf.
Celebrated as “the Oscars of the comics world,” for over three decades the prestigious Eisner Awards have celebrated the industry’s very best comic books and graphic novels, and the creatives behind the work. The winners were chosen by a highly lauded panel of judges and voted on by industry professionals.
