How much can you get done in 22 minutes?
That’s the question facing the Dark Knight as he finds himself trapped alone on an island full of frenzied combatants and stuck in a time loop that resets every 22 minutes—or, if he’s unlucky, with his death. Unable to speak and left with no memory of his life prior to waking up, Batman must rely on his wits and carefully honed instincts if he’s going to survive and find a way out of here.
For the millions of Fortnite players worldwide, the scenario should sound pretty familiar. But as we get into the second issue of the blockbuster Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point, an intriguing new question arises—what’s it like for the characters in the game? At the end of Zero Point #1, the Dark Knight found himself pulled into a strange rift in reality, instantly teleported to Fortnite Island. Next week’s issue #2 picks up some time later, as Batman pieces together his new reality and attempts to answer the questions at the game’s core: What’s going on here? Where are all of these fighters from? And who’s behind it all?
It would be a challenge even under the best conditions, but to have to start over again every 22 minutes makes the task nearly impossible. Fortunately, Batman won’t have to solve it on his own, as he discovers he’s not the only Gotham resident who was drawn into the rift. Let’s just hope he remembers who’s a friend and who would jump at the chance to kill Batman over and over…and over again.
