So far this season, Sam Witwer’s mask-wearing Supergirl villain has been something of an alien-fearing enigma. We know he seeks to rid National City of what he sees as a threat to humankind’s jobs, security and way of life. But who is he and how did he get this way? For answers, look to next week’s episode, “Man of Steel,” which promises to delve into the character’s history. Guest starring actor Xander Berkeley as his father, the chapter will show how Ben Lockwood evolves from a highly regarded professor into the faceless menace he is today. As for how Kara fares after getting dosed with kryptonite at the end of this week’s episode…well, you’ll get no hints from the below images. Though she does seem to have a face-to-face with Lockwood, which begs the question…how do they end up in close contact with each other? And does she know who he really is?
