You don’t need super powers to form a super team. (And no, you don’t need to be Batman either.) The Justice League has never really been about amazing abilities, but rather about what can happen when heroes come together to work alongside each other.
So, in that spirit, DC and Warner Bros. recently announced the League Up contest. It’s your chance to come together alongside four other heroic fans for a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the World Premiere of Justice League.
You can find all the information about the contest here, but let me break it down a bit for you in case you’re on the fence. The League Up contest isn’t a cosplay contest, though if cosplay is your thing, you’re certainly welcome to do it. Rather, this contest is about bringing the spirit of the Justice League to life. We know the League is all about what’s good in this world, and your League should be about that as well. You need five members, each of whom embodies some of the notable qualities of one of the Justice Leaguers:
- Wonder Woman – Justice, Peace and Equality
- Cyborg – Communication and Tech Innovation
- Batman – Determination and Intelligence
- Aquaman – Responsibility and Environmental Commitment
- Flash – Courage and Drive
Remember, you don’t have to look like your specific hero or be of the same gender. It’s just about the qualities you represent, along with your love of the Justice League.
That last part is important because to become a finalist, you need to record a brief video introducing your League and letting us know in what remarkable way they intend to celebrate the release of Justice League. Yes, it can be a huge, DC-themed party. But it can also be going out into your community in the spirit of the League and doing something good for it. It can be starting a comic book drive for children or troops overseas. It can be organizing an epic cosplay shoot or choreographing a heroic dance routine or baking a bunch of Justice League cookies and taking them to a local hospital. It’s your decision and the sky is the limit.
Just make sure it’s achievable for you because if you are chosen as a finalist, the next round involves you actually doing it and recording a second video of your celebration. But that’ll come later (remember, click here for all the info). For now, just form your League and let us know who you are and what amazing celebration you have in mind. You have a little over a week to enter, which is plenty of time. So what are you waiting for? Your chance to form your League—and to be among the first to see ours—has arrived!
