SPOILER ALERT: If you have not read BATMAN ETERNAL #23 yet and do not wish to know what happens, stop reading this post now (major spoilers ahead!). 

Batman may be in the midst of saving the entire city from the stark crazy Hush, but the REAL excitement in BATMAN ETERNAL #23 surrounds Catwoman and her awkward family reunion. 

Having just returned from a failed animal rescue heist turned underground crime brawl, Catwoman finds herself being secretly led into her father’s cell in Blackgate Penitentiary. Once there, it’s finally revealed that Rex Calabrese –the former crime lord– is Selina Kyle’s father! 

Ah… So that’s where she gets it. 

As shocking as this revelation is, the bigger surprise is what Rex proposes to Catwoman. In an almost sentimental heartfelt speech, Rex urges Catwoman to continue the family legacy and become Gotham’s next crime boss! 

Hey, it is the family business after all. 

We know Catwoman’s crime-filled future has been teased in the past, but see below as Rex tries to convince Selina that she’s the best-fit candidate to restore order to Gotham’s black market.
