DC AND GUIDE DOGS OF AMERICA | TENDER LOVING CANINES EMBARK ON AN IMPACTFUL COLLABORATION

 

Super Heroes unite! DC joins forces with the Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines to transform lives for those who are blind or visually impaired, along with veterans with PTSD or TBI, children with autism, and facility dogs for public institutions, through expertly trained service dogs. After last year’s San Diego Comic-Con collaboration captured the hearts of fans, DC and GDA|TLC are now launching a yearlong partnership, including an adorable, DC-sponsored litter of future guide and service dog Super Heroes!

MEET THE PUPS

“DC and GDA|TLC have an extraordinary opportunity to tell a powerful story together, one that unites DC’s iconic Super Heroes with an organization dedicated to creating life‑changing, four‑legged heroes,” said Jim Lee, president, publisher, and chief creative officer, DC. “Working together spotlights a future where comic book heroism becomes real‑world action, reflected in extraordinary dogs whose bravery and service transform lives one step at a time. In a rare and meaningful departure from their standard naming conventions, GDA|TLC has allowed this DC-sponsored litter to be named after iconic DC characters. Introducing Krypto, Clark, Lois, Kara, and Lobo.”

Krypto: Krypto the Superdog is where good dogs and great superheroes intersect.

Clark Kent: Clark is the mild-mannered secret identity of Superman, an alien from the planet Krypton. He’s known for his strong morals, kind heart, and dedication to using his superhuman abilities for good.

Lois Lane: Lois Lane is a tenacious journalist, known for her sharp intellect, strong will, and relentless pursuit of truth, often putting herself in danger to get a story.

Kara Zor-El: Also known as Supergirl, Kara possesses all of Superman’s powers—from superhuman strength, speed, and invulnerability all the way down to his flight and enhanced senses—but is still learning to control these awesome abilities.

Lobo: This intergalactic alien badass is known as the best bounty hunter in the universe. He has fought on the side of both the good guys and the bad, pretty much just drifting toward whoever pays him the most to get the job done.

 

The DC pups are growing up faster than a speeding bullet!

Since graduating “Puppy K,” these future heroes have been building confidence, learning new skills, and taking on exciting adventures with their volunteer puppy raisers.

Clark is happy, inquisitive, and mild-mannered, often observing before jumping in. Kara may be timid at first but quickly settles in and stays incredibly focused on her handler. Lois is adventurous, spirited, and always ready to investigate the world around her. Krypto brings nonstop energy and enthusiasm to every outing, while Lobo keeps everyone entertained with his curious personality, playful nature, and impressive puppy naps.

From puppy outings and training milestones to DC activations and special appearances, every experience helps prepare these pups for the important work ahead. One day, they may go on to support veterans, children with autism, individuals who are blind or visually impaired, and facilities such as hospitals, police stations, and more.

Their origin stories are still being written, and the best chapters are yet to come. Fans will also be able to join the fun and follow along through social activations throughout the year and even meet the puppies in person at San Diego Comic-Con in July!
